reflections

Yes. I agree that blogging is beneficial for supporting student reflection. I feel that students can bettter express what they truly feel when they blog as compared to a face-to-face conversation as they may feel shy to tell the truth or feel obliged to give the morally correct answer. On the other hand, when students give their reflections on online blogs, there is no pressure to give a certain answer and students can just type freely their opinion, thus allowing teachers to know what the student really feels.

However, one disadvantage of posting reflections through blogging would be that students tend to lose focus especially when it comes to online assigment as they may be distracted by other stuff on the internet such as facebook, playing games or random web surfing. This will thus cause students to lose focus and end up spending more time than required to complete their online blogging reflection.

One question that I feel have not been address yet would be that under the circumstance that a student post nasty comments on another student's blog reflection. what should be done. This is a common situation that will occur as everyone is free to comment on one another's reflection post and it is hard to controll the comments that students will post. Therefore, the teacher could think of some measures to prevent students from posting nasty comment.
